The Hospice at May Court The Hospice at May Court

It is a distinct pleasure and honour for me to be elected as the incoming Chair of the Board of Directors. During the past few years I have gained an appreciation for the amazing support the Hospice at May Court receives from our Members, volunteers, community supporters, partners and dedicated staff. Simply put, without you, the Hospice and the essential services it offers would not exist.

It's important for all of us to pay tribute to Martha Nixon. She has served on the Board of Directors for several years including two years as Vice Chair and now two years as Chair. Martha has done an exceptional job leading us through a number of significant changes. She has been successful as a result of her commitment (way beyond the call of duty), and her superior communications, collaboration and facilitation skills. Most notably she has consistently "walked the talk" on our values. Martha, please accept our thanks and congratulations on a job very well done!

Looking ahead, the Board of Directors will be working with our Executive Director Gerard Yetman to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Of particular importance will be the task of finalizing our strategic plan, stabilizing our financial situation through increased revenue generation, enhancing our profile in the community, and completing the necessary processes to achieve accreditation. And, of course, we will ensure the Hospice continues to provide the highest level of care and support for those in need of our services. I remain confident about the future because of the support all of you provide.
