It is a distinct pleasure and honour for me to be elected as the incoming Chair of the Board of Directors (June 2011). During the past few years I have gained an appreciation for the amazing support the Hospice at May Court receives from our Members, volunteers, community supporters, partners and dedicated staff. Simply put, without you, the Hospice and the essential services it offers would not exist.

The Hospice at May Court is truly a jewel within our community. Our community is served extremely well by our Hospice. So much of the greatness of The Hospice depends on so many individuals that it is not possible to name them all. As such, I am so grateful to the members of the May Court Club of Ottawa and all our hospice volunteers and donors who contribute their time, effort and money to the existence of this jewel. Our small staff is also very dedicated. It is for this reason that I am truly honoured to have been asked to serve as Chair of the Board of The Hospice at May Court. Change has been a mainstay of our Hospice since 1987, and we expect that this trend will continue. And as we change, we will strive to maintain and enhance the quality of our services to our patients and their families, and extend our gratitude to all of those who help.
