Facing a life-limiting illness is a very difficult experience for
individuals and for their families. The Hospice at May Court's mission is to
offer palliative and end-of-life support and care through home support, day
hospice, family support programs and our nine bed residential care facility.
Since 1999 our unique community funded, charitable organization has provided
and continues to provide support and services, at no cost, to people living
with life-limiting illness and to their families.
Your decision to support The Hospice at May Court is an important
commitment to palliative end-of-life care in our community. For further
information on making a gift to The Hospice please see the many options
listed below.
- In Memoriam Donations
- When you remember a loved one through your "In Memoriam" donation, The
Hospice at May Court will send a card to notify the family of your gift and
will send you a tax receipt. While you honour your own special memories of
a friend or a loved one, your gift will go on to provide comfort for many
other patients and families in their time of need.

- Membership Renewal April 1st, 2010
- Annual Membership is a wonderful way to show your support to The
Hospice at May Court and be part of the circle of caring. Your annual
membership fee helps provide a solid and enduring financial base for the
hospice. Membership is $25 and benefits include; a tax receipt, a
membership card, voting rights at our Annual General Meeting, and our

membership renewal and donation cards at the reception desk next time you
are at the hospice if you would prefer to use our donation box. You may
also renew your membership on-line via our secure on-line giving link
CanadaHelps.org.
- Gifts of Cash
- A gift of cash immediately goes to work and can be designated for our
programs or specific Hospice projects. We accept cash or cheques, by mail
or in person to our address below or on-line via CanadaHelps.org. Click here for print version of our

are visiting the hospice. If you have questions about making a cash

- Monthly Giving
- Monthly Giving is a way of maximizing your contributions to The Hospice
at May Court. Your regular, monthly gifts may be made through post dated
cheques or via your VISA card or via CanadaHelps.org on-line. Monthly giving provides an
anticipated stream of donations allowing us to fund our programs with

- Gifts of Securities & Life Insurance
- Donating gifts of securities or life insurance can offer significant
tax benefits to you and to The Hospice at May Court. If you would like
to discuss this method of giving please contact Diane Fahlman, Manager of
Fund Development & Marketing at 613-260-2906 ext. 224.
- Planned Giving
- A planned gift is a special gift for the future, which provides a
source of financial support for the Hospice while also providing
opportunities for individuals to achieve personal tax benefits. These gifts
are arranged in the present, usually within an individual's estate or
financial plan, but actualized at a later date. Examples of planned gifts
include; bequests, life insurance, charitable gift annuities, and gifts

- Matching Gifts from Employers
- Your gifts to the Hospice at May Court can be doubled or tripled if your employer has a matching gift program. See this partial list of matching gift companies or ask your employer if they have a matching gift program and make your donation to The Hospice at May Court go further.
- Corporate Giving
- The support we receive from our friends in the corporate community is
greatly appreciated. Corporate involvement is integral to the growth of
The Hospice at May Court. We are committed to developing and
maintaining partnerships and to providing visible recognition for
corporate donors to patients and residents who benefit from their
generosity. There are many opportunities for corporate involvement. Please

- The United Way
- You can make your contribution to the Hospice at May Court through the
annual United Way Campaign at your office. Simply designate
The Hospice at May Court (Charitable Registration #
118963701RR0001) as your charity of choice on the United Way
campaign form provided by your payroll administrator, your donation
will then be deducted from your paycheck and directed to The Hospice at
May Court. Please contact Diane Fahlman, Manager of Fund Development
& Marketing for support and presentation materials or for ideas on
how to launch your campaign.
- Sponsorships & Advertising Opportunities
- Each year The Hospice at May Court hosts several major events that
offer opportunities for your organization to become a sponsor and support
the work of the hospice. These are excellent opportunities for your
organization to be involved in community philanthropy while
benefiting from the exposure that advertising and sponsorships bring. The
Hospice at May Court communicates regularly with over 13,000 stakeholders
of committed volunteers, friends, partners, donors and staff via our
website, event posters, news releases, event booklets and a quarterly
newsletter, this offers sponsors and advertisers broad exposure to new
markets.

- Every year many of our friends in the community host events to benefit
The Hospice at May Court; these third party events are an important
source of funds. If you are interested in hosting an event to support
the hospice, please contact our Event & Fund Development Coordinator Office at

- Gifts in Kind
- Gifts-in-kind involve the donation of personal and real property, goods
or services in lieu of cash. As a registered charity, the Hospice can issue
tax receipts for the fair market value of these gifts. We publish a Wish
List of items and services, this list will be posted in our most recent
newsletter. Please contact Diane Fahlman, Manager of Fund Development and
Marketing to discuss gift opportunities.
