The Hospice at May Court The Hospice at May Court

The Day Hospice Program provides diversion, support and respite to patients and their families, as well as access to care and assessment.

A volunteer driver picks up the patient in the morning and drives them home in the afternoon, or family members may provide transportation themselves. Coffee, tea, juice and muffins are served upon arrival, and a light lunch is served at 1:00 p.m.

Activities at the Day Hospice Program may include massage therapy, art therapy, reflexology, cards, jigsaw puzzles, reading, manicure/pedicure, hairdressing, social time with patients, volunteers and staff, and a medical assessment when requested by a physician. A quiet room with a bed is available throughout the patient’s visit.

A registered nurse is always on site and available to discuss issues such as treatment, illness, symptoms and pain management.

The patient is returned home by a volunteer driver by 3PM.

Anyone can make a referral – the patient, the family, health care professionals, clergy or friends. To make a referral or for more information about the Hospice’s programs, please call 260-2906 extension 226.
